The following section is designed to inform you about what personal data is required from registering members, how this information is stored and how it is handled. We ask you to read our privacy and data handling policy often, as it may change occasionally and without notice.
Data Security
We strive to make most personal information hidden to other users. Any personal data which is collected and displayed, is only in the context of the consent given by you. You can withdraw your consent at this information being displayed at any time. This is done by deletion of your account by you or an administrator. Without your express permission, we do not pass personal data on to other people or organisations. In exceptional circumstances, we may be required by law to issue certain details to organisations (in the case of a crime being committed, for example, we may be required by the police to pass on information that we may hold).
Personal Data
‘Personal data’ is information that makes the identification of a person possible. This may include a particular name, date of birth, address and telephone number. ‘Anonymous data’ is described as being, for example, your preferences or favourite television show. The evaluation of data which cannot be attributed to your person (anonymous data), helps for us to determine the habits of our users, in order to cater for the desires and needs of the members of our site and adapt the website to make it more user friendly.
What data is required?
The data we require varies, depending on what service you take up on our website. For certain services a registration is essential. These include information such as username, password and email address. Further details (homepage, MSN or ICQ address, etc.) are optional. Sometimes we may ask you for more information, if we need it in answer to support questions or similar situations. We may need this data in order to tailor our services to the current situation or to offer you the best experience possible from our website.
Who collects my data?
Any information will be collected and held exclusively in our databases, owned by the lead administrators in Germany.
What does Funky do with my personal and anonymous data?
In most cases, we require the above information to give you the best quality service possible. Apart from the personal data which makes this service possible, we collect also anonymous data, every time our site is visited. This information is helpful both for marketing purposes and to improve the offered services.
Do I have influence on the use of my data?
You have the exclusive right to decide for which purposes we may use your data. Furthermore, you alone determine whether your data is passed on to a third party and if we may use your data for the purposes of consultation, advertisement and market research. You may withdraw your permission at any time. You may also affect the use of ‘cookies’ on your computer (see further in this text for an explanation of ‘cookies). By changing your browser preferences (often under ‘tools’ > ‘internet options’ in your browser window), you have the choice to accept all Cookies, to be informed when a cookie is made or reject all cookies outright. If you decide not to accept our cookies, you will not be able to use our service.
Do you pass your data on to any third parties?
We do not sell or lend any user information. Transmission of your data is necessary for making a service available, however this takes place only with your agreement. We only reveal any personal data of our users when legally obligated. That is, if state institutions (e.g. prosecution authorities) ask us for information or if we receive a judicial order requiring us to pass on information. In all other circumstances, we respect your privacy.
How can I view data to examine, correct or delete?
To become a member of our website, you must first have registered a username and password. After this, you have full access to your data and may update or delete it, if you wish to do so. Only with our paid-for services we are entitled to store your data for a longer term, for accounting purposes.

It is to that extent that we are always concerned of the publication of personal data online. If you would like to protect any e-mails you send from your computer, use a recommended encoding program, for example PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), in order to protect your data against access from a third party (details can be found under www.pgp.com). You should also make certain, if possible, that any passwords you use are not easily associated with you or any information a person could easily find about you. Furthermore, we also recommend you change your password at regular intervals.
